Interview

Why did you want to be the Benton County Republican Party 3rd District Committeeman? It may sound simple but I feel this is the best way to make sure my neighbors and myself can voice our opinions on what happens inside Republicans Party, at a County and District level, this is where I live. I am invested in making the best outcome for all of us. And on that topic everyone who calls or emails me, will have my attention – we can discuss whatever issue is at hand.
Why do you think you are qualified? This isn’t new for me, since 2009 I have been involved in various conservative, constitutional, and grassroots organizations, speaking, doing petitions, gathering signatures, etc. I even co-produced an online political satire show with my wife showing the ridiculousness of various Federal level policies or laws. We all know that this should be a government of the people, for the people. Further I am an active member of Benton County Grassroots, I am a County Committeeman for Benton County Republicans, and I attend the yearly Republican State Conventions or Committee meetings in Little Rock.
What do you stand for? My highest priorities are Freedom of Speech, that Individuals are able to govern themselves without the government telling them what to do, and that our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms is protected. All that said – I did learn something new when I came to Arkansas… I read the Republican Party of Arkansas (RPA) party principals, and was shocked that someone read my mind as to what I stand for! So to start every one of the following 5 RPA principals will be what I fight for.
1. That individual citizens are willing and capable of managing their own affairs without government intervention.
2. That the local, state and national governments must pursue policies designed to encourage individual initiative and induce people to be responsible for their own economic, political, and social well-being.
3. The primary function of government is to protect the life, common liberty and property of the governed, to prevent fraud, and to provide a common justice.
4. That when a necessary function is undertaken by government, it should be performed by that government closest to the people to provide as much direct control by those affected as possible, and to assure freedom and liberty to all citizens with justice under the law.
5. That our freedom, national stability and expansion of the free enterprise system can be best assured by application of the Constitutional principles that unite the American people.
You say you are a Constitutional Conservative, does that mean you are you a Conservative? Certainly I am, but then if you ask 10 Conservatives what they think of individual issues, you will get 10 different answers. For me I am using the term Constitutional to again mean, what the founders thought – our country will thrive only if our people are trusted to govern themselves, so the moment a conservative starts saying we need to put in regulations, add more departments and control people – that is not me, not even sure how that is a conservative, sounds like a progressive.
Are you Pro Life? Certainly – science clearly shows life begins at conception and I’m also a Christian. We have plenty of laws saying murder is illegal, yet many other states are perfectly fine with infant murder right up to the day of birth. I am very happy I live in Arkansas and I actively donate to Family Council to keep the insanity out of Arkansas.
I see in your background your family has a long tradition of military or law enforcement service, what do you think about Law and Order? You might say they are part of my DNA! On my mothers side the Japanese side of the family three of my Great Uncles were in the highly decorated Airborne 442nd RCT out of Hawaii during WW2, my Grandfather that I grew up with witnessed the bombing of Pearl Harbor as he lived in Honolulu. My parents generation was mixed I had one Uncle as a Bronze Star Navy during Vietnam, and another Uncle who did 30+ years as a Deputy Sheriff running the county jails. So military and law enforcement have always been part of my family life, my son went into the Army National Guard, so the traditions continue.
