Hi there, I am loving my new life in Arkansas and pleased to call Benton County my new generational home. My wife and I are living up on Posy Mountain north of Beaver Lake on the Ozark Plateau it is a breathtaking beauty each morning! So happy to be here!

So a little about me, I was born in a farming community, driving the old Caterpillar Tractor with Grandpa at 10, driving the Dodge farm truck with flatbed trailer by 12; and occasionally getting yelled at, if I didn’t back the trailer up straight – I did once hit one of Grandpa’s trees with the trailer. It was the “Valley of Fruits Delight, CA”, with Orchards of Apples, Peaches, Figs, Prunes, Plumbs, Cherries, Walnuts and Almonds as far as the eye could see.

But the place was changing rapidly – people moved in non-stop and everything quickly turned into a paved blacktop high rise jungle. It was the information age come to create “Silicon Valley, CA” – the area experienced a 600% increase in population within 20 years, sound like some place you know? During this time I started several computer technology businesses, found my wife, got married, raised 3 beautiful children, and grandchildren started arriving a few years ago!

When we left California my hometown had turned into a metropolitan zone of over 3 million, plus under the guise of needing to keep control of planning and building in a sustainable way; new bureaucracies seemed to be born every day. “The Nanny State” – you can not do anything – unless the government says you are allowed to do it – at the end – I wasn’t allowed to change a light bulb in my own house, without getting a building permit! And yet crime, graffiti and homeless were everywhere.

For several years now, I continue to be elected in the Benton County Republican party to the role of – 3rd Congressional District Committeeman. I see things happening HERE in Benton County, Arkansas… that remind me of the crazy I saw in California… I will continue to tell the cautionary tale of what happened to me during my time in California… As I – NEVER – want to see Arkansas – turn into California.
